AL Dhala Governorate

It is located to the south of the capital Sana’a linked together by an asphlt road across Dhamar Governorate , its length is 250km , surrounded by many Governorates , from the north Dhamar, from the east the tow Governorates of Bayda and Abyan, from the south Lahj, from the west the Governorates of Ibb and Taiz.

Its relief varies between mountains, plateau and valley including fertile lands.

The most important archaeological and historical sites in the Governorate:

\Al Dhala Town:

Al Dhala Town is the administrative center amid the distance on the asphult road between Qatabah in the north and Al Habilain in the south. The famous mountain of Jahaf overlooks it.

Joban Town:

It is located on the unpaved road liking Qatabah with Rada 55km away from the southwest direction of Rada and 35km away from the northeastern direction of Qatabah Town. Rada and Qatabah in Dhlal are linked by an unpaved road whose length is 80 km. Joban is considered one of the most important towns of the Tahiride Dynasty and embraces the fort of Joban which is counted amongst the most invincible and was constructed by the Tahirides. In Joban there is the Miniature of the Aamiriyah Mosque and school of Rada and is considered an attraction place in the Governorate.

The Aamiryah School and mosque were built by Sultan Aamirr Bin Abdul Wahab Al Tahiri to whom many historical features are liked, among of which are the Mosques, schools, water cisterns, Channels, Forts and Walls.

Damt Area:

It is located of the hot sulfurous springs of Yemen. It is located on the tourist path linking Yareem across Wadi Bana and through the other tourist route beginning in Aden through, Lahj, Al Dhala, Qataban and Damt. From there across Wadi Bana to Yarim , Dhamar and Sana’a . Al Dhala governorate is not restricted to these sites only but has got many historical and archaeological sites in Hosain, Shuaib, Azariq and Hasha.
