President Kicks off vital Projects in Hodeidah

Hodeidah June 30 (SABA)

Within the framework of his inspection visit to hodeidah governorate, President Ali Abdullah Saleh paid a visit on Saturday to directorate of AL –Saleef where he kicked off a number of development and service projects.

President inaugurated the Al-saleef hodeidah road which is 67.5 Km long and worth YR.l billion .300 millions. Minister of public works and urban planning Eng.Abdullah Addofaee, Hodeidah governor Mohammed Saleh Shamlan, and Secretary General of the local council of hodeidah governorate Hussein Haj received him at the side of the project.

President displaces the curtain from the memorial of the project signaling that the road is officially opened.

This vital road will contribute to activation of the goods transportation process from the al- saleef harbor to the remaining cities throughout the country .The road has a branch extending to Ras Issa with length of 13Km.

President also laid down a foundation stone of the project of Al- saleef electricity, where he was received by the chairman of General Corporation of harbors, Ahmed Ali Ba- Abeed a long with officials from the corporation.

The project coasts YR.250 million and has the power of one megawatt.

Within the visit, chairman of the shura council AbdulAziz Abdul Ghani laid down foundation stone for the project of as-saleef harbors gate, and some annexes, asphalting some internal roads, with a total costs of YR 40 million.

After that president headed for the al-saleef harbor where he acquainted him self with the activities there and the underway projects. He gave directives to the concerned bodies to give more interest to create optimum operation of the harbor and make use of the natural feature of the harbor.

President was accompanied during his visit to hodeidah by the chairman of the shura council, Abdul Aziz Abdul Al-gani , vice chairman of the shura council Abdullah Al-Bar.Ministerr of public works and urban planning , Abdullah Hussein Addofaee Minister of state and secretary general of the presidential office Abdullah Hussein Al-Basheeri , and Minister of the state members of cabinet Khaled Al-shareef.
