President Saleh Visits Bani Houshesh Area

Sana’a Aug 30--- President of the Republic Ali Abdullah Saleh on Thursday Paid an inspection visit to Bani Houshesh district a few kilometers to the North of sanaa where he was received by the officials , sheiks , dignitaries , members of the local council and officials of Sa’awan Agriculture Association . The citizen of the districts welcomed the visit of his Excellency and were happy to see him touching their worries very closely to get to know their demands without mediations.

He made a journey to AL Halah water reservoir as constructed five years ago and got to know its capacity and the services it is predicted to extended to the citizens in neighbor, He also got acquainted with the old wells injected by the reservoir to restore their life after being dried for long.

Officials of the sa’awan agriculture association briefed the president on the association activities in supporting the farmers and encouraging them to reclaim the lands to plant different crops in addition to the grapes as well as establishing animal farms to breeds their own livestock .

He toured around the sa’awan cultivated valley and was pleased to see the expansion of the planted lands made him tap in appreciation on the shoulders of the farmers who are interested to increase their agriculture production. He also highly evaluated the efforts produced by officials of sa’awan association which saved no efforts to worked hard to enlighten the people on the importance of reclaiming their land to plant different corps to marketed then, “

The sa’awan agriculture association is one of the successful associations in our country which present numerous services to the farmers .It is an ideal symbol that should be followed by other agriculture associations in the country “ The president said.

He promised to present all kinds of support to all the agriculture associations to work together to increase the crops production and achieve the comprehensive development desired by all.

He also instruction the government to double efforts in the field of constructing more dams and reservoirs to utilize the rainwater for injecting the wells and increasing the scale of agriculture production.

The president confirmed that water is the source of life and it is the great wealth for the coming generations that should be preserved and using according to fixed portions, He called on the citizens to cooperate with the officials sectors to construct more dams and water reservoirs all over the country to inject wells and underground water with rains the gift of Allah.

He also urged the local councils in the district of Bani-Houshesh to activate their monitoring office on the implementation process of such vital projects to guarantee better living standards for the citizens.

During his visit the president was accompanied by a number of senior officials in the government (SABA)
